DDGS (Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles)

DDGS is a byproduct of dry milling corn, containing fractions left after the ethanol fermentation of grains. It is a high-energy and protein-bearing raw material. DDGS exhibits numerous qualities suitable for feeding and serves as a valuable feed ingredient for all livestock. For ruminant animals, it provides appetizing, highly digestible cellulose, low starch, phosphorus, B vitamins, and a high level of bypass protein. It is an excellent protein source in dairy cattle feeding and typically contains over 30% protein. Rations containing DDGS often result in as high or even higher milk production than those containing soybean meal as a protein source.
